Challenges for the planet

Our population has greatly expanded and as we increase, we add pressure to our environment slowly  depleting out natural resources such as water, food, energy and various materials, like wood from trees.

The main challenges are:

  • loss of  habitat
  • loss of forests
    • increasing levels of carbon dioxide
    • increasing levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere
    • increasing the greenhouse effect
    • increasing the warming of the planet
  • higher levels of carbon dioxide
    • burning of fossil fuels
      • contributes to climate change
  • Misuse and exploitation of our natural resources
    • our natural systems have difficulty replenishing
  • increased demand for synthetic products which take years to decompose

Some regions of the world are currently having challenges with water shortages.

Many are asking the question if California will be running dry like Capetown, South Africa. There are many challenges ahead.
