AFE One Health Initiative, is a non-profit based in Abuja, Nigeria. It was created to address topics such as the fall out from conflict, climate change and health inequities that exist in West Africa and across the continent. It was registered\u00a0 in December 2022 as a non-governmental agency (NGO) with a HQ\u00a0 in Abuja, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Conserving forests is crucial for maintaining biodiversity, mitigating climate change, and ensuring the well-being of ecosystems and human communities. Forests provide habitat for numerous plant and animal species, contribute to carbon sequestration, regulate water cycles, and offer various ecosystem services.<\/p>\n

“Afe” is also a\u00a0 Yoruba word that means “We want…” The AFE teams want<\/strong> to ensure the planet they inherited will also be around for their children, grandchildren and generations to come. Areas of expertise are: agriculture and sustainable farming, as well as food security, the environment, health and education.<\/p>\n
